My journal has just been SO dead lately. I needed to liven things up a little bit, even if I don't have the most interesting of things to blabber on about. I just felt like typing so here I am.

I worked what felt like an entire week this past week. Eric was on vacation all week so I took his hours, and of course kept my own. It was both boring and hectic. Well, I should say that the first half of the week was hectic and the second half relatively mellow.

Summer classes started on Monday. And as usual, everyone waited until the very last minute (literally) to buy their books for class. Monday I worked from 8-3 and I basically stood at the register ringing up customers the entire time, well, aside from my 45 minute lunch break which I was soooooooooo thankful for! Tuesday was pretty bad as well, but it died down just enough for me to have time to put up my behind-the-counter display that I made for June. I told them that I'd be happy to do the displays (or at least help out with them) while I was working there. I drew out this cartoon-cutesy octopus (I've had some strange fascination with sea creatures lately) and he's wearing bright yellow sunglasses (I'll try to post the pic I took with my phone) and "holding" a bunch of random things we sell in the store like a DVD and a mug...it's just kind of silly and random, but still summery.

Wednesday on through Friday were made of fail. We had customers, but that dwindled as the days passed. Friday was the absolute worst because I workedd 8-4 and we had like 12 customers, each one with their own weird problems. And apparently I did something I should not have done. This woman came in and bought a Nutrition book. She was hoping to find it Used, but all we had were New and they were $115!! I don't blame her for being a little upset, but she went on and left without much of a complaint. Soon afterwards, she came back in carrying a piece of paper that she had pulled off the board outside the bookstore where we let students sell their books for their own prices to other students. Apparently, someone was selling that same Nutrition book for only $50 and they had their name and number up there for any takers. Obviously, anyone would rather pay $50 than $115, so she asked me if she could use a phone to call up the person (didn't have a cell on her I guess) and inquire about the book. I said "sure" and let her use our cordless. She called up the person, left them a message, and then handed back the phone and left. After that, I hear "Emily!" in a stern tone come from the office. Kathy B, one of the ladies who I work with (the only other one there that day) had heard the entire thing and then went on to tell me that I shouldn't have allowed her to use our phone to call someone who would be taking the money away from us, since she will probably return our book after getting it from someone else. Oh well, I'm too nice. Kathy should know that by now, and she should also know that she's not nice enough sometimes.

Whatever, it's the weekend now.

I bought some new shoes today. My other ones were falling apart. I have the hardest time finding shoes because I wear size 11W so it's ridiculous. I went to Famous Footwear and found nothing, but then we went to Target and I found what I think are some cute shoes...

yes, they sparkle, but they're not overpowering, like Edward Cullen on a sunny day. I like them and they're comfy too.

Oh and I finally went and got Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist the other day. I am in love with Michael Cera and I don't care who knows. He's my type of guy. Can't wait to see him in Year One (which I am seeing just to see him)!

What was your favorite movie when you were a kid? Is it still your favorite now that you're older?

My favorite movie as a kid was The Little Mermaid. Everytime we went to the video store, I would rent that movie. I knew all the songs, everything! For some reason, I never bought it unitl a couple years ago when it was released on DVD. But yes, I loved that movie, and I still do love it today!

I also loved Beauty and the Beast. I was Belle for Halloween one year.
